GRAD programs: Parents of Graduates Academy
Enrollment
for the Parents of Graduates Academy (PGA), a College for all Texans
Training program, has begun for the February and March sessions
of 2003. This free program will be offered to parents with children
in grades 6-12. Priority will be given to parents of students in
high school. Participants will register for a six hour training
program over a two week period.
Classes are
tailored to meet schedules convenient to participants throughout
various times during the week. Training materials will include a
parent’s college kit essential to the academic and financial
preparedness of students.
Participants
will also receive hands on assistance in accessing the internet
to research scholarship and online resources. Various scholarship
applications to local and national organizations will also be made
available.

Parents of
high school students are encouraged to bring their student with
them. Also, to meet many of the deadlines for scholarships and other
financial aid opportunities, parents of seniors are encouraged to
attend the February sessions as many deadlines occur on March 1st.
